Introducing our Team Burn newbies!!!

Introducing our newest Burn Team Member and Personal Trainer : Nufi Silas

Nufi is a highly motivated, accomplished and confident personal trainer with exstensive knowledge and experience in the health and fitness industry. Nufi began working as a personal trainer in 2013 after completing a foundation degree in sports coaching. Along with personal training, he also gained experience as a strength coach working with Grimsby Town Football Acadamy. Nufi's personal training journey started with Virgin Active and David Lloyd where I trained several elite athletes. He then returned to Grimsby to launch The Warehouse Gym and set up a meal prep business "Nufs Kitchen". However, it is working with PT clients that he finds most rewarding and now Nufi is armed with a wealth of knowledge in diet and nutrition to help clients and Burn Fitness members change their lifestyle and achieve their goals.

Introducing Sara Vine: Burn Team Member and Personal Trainer

Sara is a 38 year old mum, wife and personal trainer living in Grimsby who is passionate about health, fitness and everything that goes with it. After having her son and gaining a good 4 (maybe more...) stone, she took charge, started lifting weights, eating clean and then decided to become a personal trainer. Fully qualified level 3, she's now helping other people achieve their goals by educating them in nutrition and exercise but more importantly building their confidence and ensuring they maintain their new lifestyles.
It is her mission to help people become the best version of themselves.

You might think that only elite athletes and professional sportsmen and women benefit from working with a personal trainer, but you'd be wrong!

1. They teach you NEW stuff!

If you're new to the gym experience, getting a personal trainer is a smart idea. At Burn, when we we do your induction session we will help you get familiar with the machines and ascertain your fitness goals. Your personal trainer will structure more in-depth sessions, can help perfect your form and help you achieve your goals.

2. They are your personal therapist !

Having a bad day ? Your personal trainer can be the perfect person to talk it out with while you're bending, balancing, and lifting. They are a great sounding board and just like a therapist they will keep all your secrets!

3. They have an objective eye !

We all have areas we'd like to work on, and personal trainers can not only tell you realistically what to expect with each workout, but also how to optimize a session to target different muscle groups.

4. They're better than a mirror!

Watching yourself while you work out can help you make sure your form is correct, but it's even better when someone is there to tweak it while you work.

Just when you think you can't go anymore, you'll be told to "hold for another minute" or do "10 more reps." And what do you do? You do it, and are all the better for it!

What's New in August

Fit Family Creche Update

It's the school holidays!  We know that many of you struggle with childcare during the long summer break so to make life easier we have extended our Fit Family Creche to open Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 11.30am.  We also now accomodate children from the age of 4 months to 5 years and during holidays we also allow older siblings up to the age of 8 years to join us at the creche.  As a Burn Fitness member you can enjoy 1 free child place and any additional children will pay £4.00 per session. There is a high demand for places so booking is essential.  You can download a registration form from the crech page here on our website or pop into the gym and pick one up in person.


Kid's Classes

We will be offering some great kids and family classes over the summer in our studio for ages 8 - 16 years.  Parents are more than welcome to join in too or maybe you can sneek in a cheeky workout ?

Starting on Tuesday 25th July with Jades Half Day Dance Workshops (1pm- 5pm ) will run every Tuesday afternoon throughout the summer culminating in a dance show.  Perfect for those children already attending Jades Saturday morning classes and anyone who'd like to try something new.

Kids Zumba with Lucy starts Thursday 3rd August 11am - 12pm.  A great opportunity for a bit of Mum & Daughter fun  every Thursday in August !

Family Yoga with Rebecca starts Thursday 27th July at 3pm - 3.45pm.  Join us as we laugh, stretch and move our way to a calmer fitter family. We think you might enjoy a little time to wind down and relax over the summer !

Family Fit Camp starts on Sunday 30th July 10 - 11am.  Bring your Fit Family and join us for fun and games every Sunday morning !


Keiser Cycle classes

Starting week commencing Monday 31st July we will be adding 2 Beginners Keiser Classes to our timetable.

Thursdays at 5.30 -6pm

Saturday at 9.30 -10am

We have also changed our evenig Keiser Cycle class times to start at 5.30pm daily with 2 additional later classes on a Monday and Thursday at 6.30pm

Big Up for our New European Welterweight Champion Madars LatvianExpress Fleminas

"The Latvian Express" Madars Fleminas (8-1-0) claimed the FSC European Welterweight belt after he demolished the previously unbeaten Corey Beldon (7-1-0) for his seventh win inside the distance. Fleminas dominated Beldon from the off, eventually stopping him with punches in the dying embers of the first round.

In a post fight interveiw Madars informed his jubilant supporters that he intends to take ONE more fight this year before turning Pro in December !

It was a great night !

We came.......We saw ........We conquered ......Bring on the next fight !!!


 

Introducing Madars"Latvian Express" Fleminas

Burn Fitness are proud to be sponsoring Madars "LatvianExpress" Fleminas and his team at Bateman MMA.
Madars and his wife have been members of the gym since they came to Grimsby 6 years ago. Burn Fitness are supporting him as he prepares for his next big fight on Saturday 20th May when he will be fighting Corey Beldon for the European Welterweight Title.
The FightStar Championship is at the North Bridge Leisure Centre in Halifax on Saturday 20th May, with a tantalising 14 fights on the card featuring some of the best amateur talents in the country. It's going to be thrilling night so come along and show Madars some Fit Family support!
